Germ Worries

W32.Doomhunter, W32.Mydoom.A@mm, W32.Bugbear.B@mm, W32.Blaster.B.Worm - someone could almost wash my mouth out with soap with the mention of these viruses.

But they are the reality and it's best practice to be one step ahead and keep your computer system safe.

In our office, we use antivirus and firewall software that are doing the job of protecting our system and we have not been infected although the antivirus software has caught quite a few nasties on their way in via email. While I'm not promoting any particular products, we have found ours to work very well for us. There are many programs out there that work very well as long as the updates are downloaded regularly to cater for new viruses. We constantly keep updating windows and this all happens in the background so that our work isn't interrupted. We're careful about emails, downloading files and checking floppy disks and CDs before using them.
